Best Christmas stocking fillers
Waking up on Christmas morning, the first thing I would do is wiggle my feet, searching for something at the foot of my bed that wasn't there when I went to sleep.
Christmas stockings are one of my favourite traditions at Christmas, and even though Santa doesn't leave mine at the end of my bed anymore, I still love the fun of finding out what's been left inside.
If you're struggling for stocking filler inspiration, here's my go-to list of stocking favourites from around the web and high street.
Everyone's Christmas favourite - snuggly socks
Adorable festive dinosaurs from Fatface, £6 - The only decent clothes shop left in Ely and they have the best lounge and snuggle wear. I bought a pair for Joe last year and I'm thinking I'd quite like a pair of my own!
Sparkly star socks from accessorize, £5 - these look rather perfect to wear with low ankle boots.
Retro Coca-Cola polar bear socks from Truffle Shuffle, £6.99 - I love this website for throwback brands and tv shows.
Something for the quiet moments - festive fiction
The Christmas Invitation by Trisha Ashley, £9.99 - I think I've read every festive Trisha Ashley book so far, and I'm looking forward to adding this one to the list!
An Island Christmas by Jenny Colgan, £7.99 - Jenny Colgan's Christmas books always get me in a festive mood, so I can't wait to read this one.
Murder at Christmas, £8.99 - Who doesn't love a (fictional) murder at Christmas? How about 10 classic murders that can be read in between opening presents or as sausage rolls bake in the oven?
'tis the season to be merry - indulgent hot drinks
Cute hot chocolate mug with marshmallows, £9.50 - I am addicted to buying mugs. We have an actual ban on buying mugs as we can't fit any more in the cupboard, but if I were to receive one as a gift...
Yummy coffee syrups, £7.99 - admittedly, I don't drink coffee, but these are also yummy in hot chocolate!
mmmmm Baileys, £6 - sure, you could just get a whole bottle of lovely Baileys, but this comes with a mini whisk, and as it's for a hot drink, it's entirely suitable for a late morning warmer while opening the presents!
Just in time for the start of the new year - perfect paper goods
Potion making notebook, £12.99 - much cooler looking than a Hogwarts crest, but still perfect for a Potterhead!
Recipe journal, £15 - easy way to collate all your favourite recipes! I'm more of a baker than a chef, so most of these pages would start with the word 'Chocolate'.
One line a day 5 year diary, £11.99 - I have never been able to keep a diary, but I bought myself one of these at the start of 2019 and it turns out I can manage one sentence a day! I'm really looking forward to being able to compare the years as I fill this in!
And most important of all...
The best stocking filler of all time - Terry's Chocolate orange.
No Christmas is complete without one, and nothing gives me more joy than receiving enough of these to last me into January!
Christmas can be an expensive and busy time of year, so I hope these give you some easy and affordable ideas to fill up the Christmas stocking!
